Gresford Community Action Planning Event

The community of Gresford invites people from across the Upper Hunter region to have their say in an upcoming community engagement initiative aimed at shaping the future of our region. In collaboration with the Gresford community, Dungog Chamber of Commerce, Dungog Council, and Arts Upper Hunter, Rural Aid proudly brings renowned community consultant Peter Kenyon to facilitate the event.

Peter Kenyon, a self-proclaimed community enthusiast and social capitalist, is dedicated to fostering caring, healthy, inclusive, connected, resilient, and enterprising communities. With extensive experience through his organisation, the Bank of I.D.E.A.S (Initiatives for the Development of Enterprising Action and Strategies), Peter has assisted over 2,000 communities across Australia, New Zealand, Southern Africa, and North America. He has worked in 63 countries, empowering communities to unlock their potential and work towards sustainable futures.

We are privileged to have Peter Kenyon join us to facilitate a constructive discussion about our community’s aspirations and desired direction. This event presents a unique opportunity for residents to contribute to an action plan for the area. All community members are encouraged to participate. The workshops will cover various topics, including economic development, the aged, youth, the environment, tourism, arts, and more. It will be a positive forum for locals to engage in discussions, share ideas, collaborate, problem-solve, and envision a brighter future.

The event will span two days, commencing on 11 July. The first session, focusing on Arts and Cultural Tourism across the Upper Hunter region, will run for three hours, starting at 10 am (registration at 9:30 am). Later that day, at 6:00 pm, a session called Getting the Tills Ringing across Dungog Shire will address business and economic matters in the region. On 12 July, a general community consultation for the Dungog Shire will begin at 10 am. At 6 pm, all passionate Gresford people are invited to a workshop about Shaping the Future of Gresford.
