The Parish Office has received a number of photos from the current PALMS Samoan Encounter Trip, including photos of our very own John in his classroom leading a science experiment with some of his students.
The message from PALMS reads:
"I am just getting in touch as we have received the first photos of the Samoan Encounter. You will see the images named ‘Vicky Yemoh’, Vicky is teaching in Don Bosco College with John so you get an idea of where John is teaching and his students too. We do not have any photos of John yet however, the group will be visiting John’s classroom tomorrow so we should receive more photos later on in the week.
"The remaining photos show the rest of the Encounter participants and the beautiful architecture and landscapes. In ‘Cathedral in Apia 2’, we have all of our participants Bernadette Ridge (far left), Helen Colla (left) who is a previous Palms participant and the Encounter tour leader, Martha (centre left), Catie (middle left), Catherine McGrath (right) and Pippa (far right). We have a great diversity of ages in our group as you can see and we are hoping all our participants will see the importance of skill exchange as they visit John and Vicky’s placement as well as develop a larger curiosity towards Samoan culture."
We subsequently had another message:
"Just sending a few more photos that have come in. Please find them attached. The Encounter group visited John’s classroom and watched a Chemistry experiment."
